The Competence Network's project for the support of trial groups is led by Julia Hannemann and Irene Krämer in cooperation with Dr. Martin Zimmermann. The Study Support Group's services can be used to improve the work of every GPOH trial group. An in-depth description of the sub-projects mentioned below is available on the subsequent pages.
The Study Support Group's tasks include:
Development of a quality management system
Establishing a quality management system means developing a concept for its structure ('Quality House') and content. In cooperation with the specially founded Working Committee 'Quality Assurance for GPOH Clinical Trial Centers' specific tools and templates are developed. This not only facilitates the work of the GPOH's clinical trial centers, but is a necessary step to fulfill legal requirements.

Assistance with study protocols
An extensive collection of material for planning a study is provided on request. We also offer to evaluate protocols of GPOH therapy optimization studies before they are submitted for official review. This evaluation assures the observance of formal and legal aspects.

Promotion of communication
Information on organizational and formal aspects of planning a trial and conducting a therapy optimization trail are provided for the trial coordination centers. This service is provided on request and will later on be available as part of the 'Quality House'.

Provision of a material database
A database prototype for material management in laboratories created at the beginning of the project is still available to the clinical trial centers.
